Thursday….

Thankfully it’s almost the weekend, which I am extremely excited about. More or less I’ll be with Chris the whole weekend. Tomorrow we are going to his friend Scott’s place, Saturday I get to see Jackie (swam at UConn and transferred to Keene in NH) who I haven’t seen since this summer then am going shopping for stuff to help Chris finish off his basement and then Sunday is Super Bowl. Overall it looks to be a good weekend. Hopefully no more snow, but it’s New England so that probably won’t happen…

And wahoo for January having 3 Thursdays!!!! I got paid today 😀

sick…again

So for what feels like the 100th time since my birthday (Dec 19th) I am sick again. The whole whooping cough, sore throat, hurts to swallow, go through a box of tissues in a day kind of feeling. This needs to end…so in an attempt to do so, I have decided that this week is going to be a week of R&R (rest and recovery) Hopefully I will be able to get a good amount of sleep each night and take some meds and extra vitamins to get rid of this once and for all.

Everything aside, I did have a great weekend, just lots of driving. UConn won both meets they swam on Saturday and that night I got to spend it with Danielle (my wife) and Colleen(my roommate soph and senior year in college) It was good to catch up with them both and get out for a bit. We went for dinner and did a little shopping afterwards. Also got to see Diane (danielle’s current roommate and another one of my roommate’s from senior year) She recently got engaged so the showing of the ring and talk of wedding plans was good.

Sunday came back to Milford for a bit and then went to spend the remainder of the day with Chris. It was good to just hang out with him and go to dinner. We talked about Disney plans and are definitely going to book something this week! YAY so excited…something to look forward to. Hopefully the thoughts of Florida will get me through the massive amounts of snow we are supposed to get on Wednesday. blah…i hate the snow.

Spark Notes…

The last half of my week was miserable….

I am going to bullet for you so it’s easy to follow

  • Someone ran into my car and scratched it
  • Work =  stressful…my back up to my back up interview can’t interview until the day the story needs to be in
  • Get pulled over for the first time EVER (only took me 8 years) thankfully only a written warning
  • Im getting sick…AGAIN
  • Oh and a cold sore from being stressed and sick

Thankfully it’s the weekend. But good things did come of this week.

Chris and I are getting our plans together to book a vacation to Disney in May. While in the process we had some fun with photobooth….

I am going down to Uconn tomorrow to see my wife (on facebook) and some of my good friends!!!! Oh and the kitten always makes me smile 🙂

A new addition…

I’d say a pretty great weekend overall, minus a few things here or there. I will give you the sparks note version I guess.

Friday: Worked, went to Chris’s friend Scott’s house and had dinner there. A pretty relaxing night.

Saturday: Spent the night at Chris’s so we made breakfast together. It was Jill’s (my sister; youngest) birthday so I had found a kitten to give her. The only problem was, she was in CT (the kitten) and Jill had a meet. I surprised her, so she didn’t like the fact that I was “sick” and not going to be there. Chris and I drove to CT to get the little baby and she was the cutest thing alive. Once I got her and we were on our way back home, I sent Molly (younger sister) a picture text of the kitten (she and my mom were in on the whole plan) and she showed it to Jill. Needless to say Jill loves me and the kitten (named Lucy) is the newest member to the K family

See…isn’t she amazing?

Sunday: So I ended up staying at home. That wasn’t the original plan, but because of Lucy I wanted to spend more time with her. What got in my way of going back to Salem and Chris and I hanging out/planning a vacation to Disney? SNOW!!!!! I hate the snow. There was about 10 inches at my parents’ place. Because I was stuck there I had to go into Target and play model for my mother. She works at Target in the photo department at the portrait place. On the way though, I almost got into an accident because the roads were soooo bad my car skidded and I ended up half on the sidewalk half on the street on the hill by my house…NO FUN!!!! I ended up staying at my parents’ place until 5 and came back to Salem. It snowed again at 8.

Monday: Not fun waking up this morning. I had to work on Martin Luther King Day which stunk.  Then on top of that, I had to shovel/clear another 6 inches off my car. And work was work as usual. Swam again tonight….Did a 500 for time at the end of practice, my time: grand ole 5:42. Almost a minute slower than my best time ever. Or 30 seconds slower than what I should be at if I were in top shape. I have to try and not compare, but it’s hard…

I need it to be tomorrow. Chris is coming over and it’s one day closer to the weekend. I am thinking of going up to RI/CT to see the ladies swim because I can’t go to their SR meet.

Well that’s it for now. Is it summer yet? This snow is getting old…..

love sick insomniac

It’s basically midnight and I can’t sleep. The past two nights have been the same for me and I don’t know why. It’s not like I haven’t been productive or done things with my day/life. Sleep just doesn’t come. I am sitting at my desk looking at the books I have piled on shelves and leaning against each other and decide to thumb through some to pick out favorite quotes.
<<i tend to do this with all my books, underline and highlight and fold pages over>>

And this is what I came up with….

1. Other People’s Love Letters: 150 letters you were NEVER MEANT to SEE edited by bill shapiro:

**But if I’ve learned anything in the past year, it’s that life is peculiar and following your heart is the only way to find yourself anywhere the least bit interesting.**

2. the perks of being a wallflower: stephen chbosky

**and in that moment i swear we were infinite**

**so i guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. and maybe we’ll never know most of them. but even if we dont have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there**

**its strange the times people choose to be generous**

3. For One More Day: Mitch Albom

**the truth is, there is no line. there’s only your life, how you mess it up, and who is there to save you….or who isnt**

**there is everything you know and there is everything that happens. when the two do not line up, you make a choice**

4. love is a mix tape: life and loss, one song at a time; Rob Sheffield

**i have built my entire life around loving music, and i surround myself with it. im always racing to catch up on my next favorite song. but i never stop playing my mixes. every fan makes them. the times you lived through, the people you shared those times with– nothing brings it all to life like an old mix tape. it does a better job of storing up memories than actual brain tissue can do. every mix tape tells a story. put them together, and they add up to the story of a life.**

5.  Charmed Thirds: Megan McCafferty (#3 of a 4 book series)

**there is no simple beginning, middle, or end**

**humans find meaningfulness where none exists because we want to create a sense of order in this chaotic universe–freud**

**…nothing is permanent. especially people. strangers become friends. friends become lovers. lovers become strangers. strangers become friends once more, and over and over**

And with that, I am going to bed….

What a night…

No words can describe how annoyed I am right now. It started out as an average Thursday night. Sean and I now have a routine of going to the new Y on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get an extra work out in when we don’t have swimming. I normally go and run while Sean lifts. No big deal. So we work out like normal and have to stop at the store on the way home to get some milk. We go to Tedeschi’s food, or what has taken over Store 24…

We walk in and they have Keno playing, with a table of regulars sitting down watching the numbers. Sean and I go to the back of the store to grab milk and I get a powerade zero to try it out. We head to the cashier to pay and as I’m standing there, the guys at the table get silent. Ok, I think to myself, a little weird. But continue to stand in line behind Sean. Then in a whisper I hear “nice ass” ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!?! Perverts. I heard them, but they thought they were sly enough with saying it in a whisper. <<insert string of bad words here>> Okay, I’m sweating like a pig still and am in my gym clothes. I guess that constitutes being subjected to having guys, old men, stare at my ass and think they are being sly and not creepy…YUCK YUCK YUCK. So obviously I feel violated and am pissed off to the extreme. God, guys are pigs sometimes…

And as if that didn’t make my night…my crazy ex ex boyfriend calls me. Crazy you ask? Well he was the ex boyfriend that, things were on the rocks and we were “on a break” aka heading straight for an official break up and never getting back together kind of thing. He gets hammered one night and calls me 54 times…yes 54 times… Not only does he call my cell phone that many times, he talks to 3 of my roommates in the 2 hours that it took him to call that many times AND he 411 my house number to talk to my parents at 3am in the FREAKING MORNING!!!!! He calls, I freak out and ignore the call, and he leaves a voicemail. So Sean and I pause Pineapple Express so I can listen to the voicemail and it’s not bad. Mind you its a 2 minute VM but its good. He’s offering to give a CEO of a publishing company my name and all that jazz. He left his email and then said I could call him…I emailed him and I guess we will see what happens.

Thank god it is Friday tomorrow and I get to see Chris and then Saturday I’m heading out with Kait (best friend from home) and our other friend Nicole. Should be a good time and some serious dancing is needed to clear my head.

I’ll keep you posted on the crazy ex boyfriend status….GAH!! tonight = ridiculous….

Lately I’ve been thinking…

of getting a tattoo

that the cold makes me miserable

I should start reading more of the books that are piling up on my shelf

how amazing my boyfriend is ❤

about the coventry house and how I miss all its occupants and honorary occupants

of applying for a job in australia?

about summer and if it’s too early for a countdown

I should take more pictures

about what to add to my own Bucket List

to go outside my comfort zone and try new things….

“Hooray, no spam here!”

It’s Monday, and like everyone else in the world I am already asking myself “is it Friday yet?” The weekend, as usual, passed far too quickly for my liking and when sitting back, trying to remember what I did, nothing crazy sticks out.

Originally I had plans to go into Boston on Saturday with my sister and best friend from home, but for whatever reason massive amounts of snow always get in the way of any planned trip into the city. I will list my examples to give proof that from now on I should just sporadically head into the city.

Example #1: My birthday/weekend…December 19th

This was the first planned trip into the city. I had this great plan worked out since November to have friends from CT and all other areas of MA come up and either stay over at my place in Salem or meet the group out in Faneuil Hall. The night would start at Dick’s Last Resort for dinner and then from there we would travel not far to Bell in Hand. It was going to be great.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. That week the weather planned snow, but not just a “dusting” or anything like that, but basically a blizzard to hit the Boston area on none other than Friday night, December 19th. And for those of you who remember, we got that blizzard and the first massive snow storm of the winter season. Yes, it snowed on my parade… But my loyal friends not far from Boston came out the next night, despite awful roads and freezing conditions to help me celebrate turning the rip old age of 23.

Example #2: New Year’s Eve

A friend from high school knows the owner of GoodBar in Faneuil Hall, so he had rented out the place and was selling tickets. It was open bar from 10-2am with a champagne toast at midnight and all that jazz. Obviously I had bought my ticket for this party in November, so regardless of the weather I was going.

The plans: Get picked up by Chris, drive to hotel by UMASS Boston, get ready with Kait, leave hotel and meet rest of group for dinner, go to GoodBar, drink and dance the night away in good company, catch T back to hotel, pass out.

Oh everything went according to plan, don’t you worry. However, the temperature was mind numbing. Kait and I were all dolled up in our dresses, accessories and makeup, but added to the wardrobe were leggings and Ugg boots. We were quite attractive. We packed our heels in another bag and changed the minute we got to the bar. Thank you for a coat check.

Mind you it was a great night and I certainly paid for it the next day, as I lay on the couch hung over in front of the TV, not moving. It was worth it, money and time well spent.

Example #3: This past weekend.

As told before, I was supposed to go into the city with Kait and my sister Molly. It was a chance for both of them to see my new place in Salem and to have a girls’ night. But just my luck, another snow storm hits the Boston area. Molly was able to get in and just hang out, but Kait stayed at home and we postponed our crazy girls’ night out for another weekend.

I am hoping the snow stays far away from New England this weekend. I mean, the snow has hindered my plans three times already, and bad things usually come in threes. I should be in the clear…but it’s New England. It could be like spring out tomorrow and then we could get hit with another massive blizzard. So far, the weather looks good for this weekend…but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see…

Welcome to the digital world…

I have been throwing the idea around for some time to start a blog and do something for myself. Finally, after contemplating whether or not I could handle allowing people to know a little bit more about me, I have a page. Wahoo… After all, it’s no different than a diary….right? This could get interesting.
